Your Majesty

light from eye

Your Majesty outshines the farthest stars.
Like prisoners new-freed from prison-bars
Led out slow-blinking to the light of day
Unchained, set loose, then freed, and led away
Uncomprehending.
Your Light broke on me
Gave me a glimpse of Your own Majesty:
A glory that outshines creation’s light.
How can I – mortal – bear this wondrous sight?
No man sees You and lives. How can it be
Part of Your Majesty resides in me?
This seal of Your redemption, of Your plan
To redeem for Yourself a part of man
To raise them up above the angels’ place
Who before Time were cast out in disgrace
When Satan was thrown down.
Lord, let it be
Part of Your Majesty display in me.
