Death is a part of Life. It is a stair
The Living ascend daily as we climb
Our round of Life. And do we wonder where
Death leads us on to after all this time?
Death is a window: through which we can see
Our deeds from that perspective of the end
That does await us all. Quite reasonably:
Death serves us well, if we would but attend!
Death is a doorway, leading to new Life:
More than we can imagine here on Earth.
Death is our help, our kindred soul-mid-wife:
Not for our extirpation, nor rebirth.
For through Death’s door we’ll enter: yes, we will!
Because our next Life draws us onwards still.
