Spolt Brat

The boy could count his every single whim
As satisfied – just as soon as he asked
His stupid mother. Who gave all to him
Unable to refuse. It was her task
Of love – she told herself – that everything
He wanted she must get him. So meantime
His self-entitlement kept on growing
All while his mother thought that all was fine.
The boy refused to work – he was unwilling
Undisciplined and spoilt as he was.
His mother never, never understood
That all unwitting: she’s his problem’s cause.
We laugh: as parents we’d never do that!
But who is it we’re really laughing at?
