The Scripture wastes no time in vain dispute
In telling us our babes are merely cute.
I know this. So does every parent’s heart
Where dimpled smiles our love return in part.
The Bible tells us what we cannot know
Because its Author wants our minds to grow
To understand eternal truths which lie
Under the surface of reality.
The psalms teach that our children are arrows
By archer’s skill to pierce what prey he choose.
So win against the foes inside the gate
A heritage ensuring in the state
A bulwark building ‘gainst the tides of Fate.
