What’s in a song?

Musical notes

  • “Songwriters are both the poets and the prophets of the modern age.
  • Indeed, there are some who say that it has always been so: in every age of mankind.”

  • Songwriting is poetry for the ears, and music for the soul.
  • A song is an inspirational idea clothed in words. And one idea can have many changes of wardrobe.
  • A song makes music to God – and lifts a dreary soul.
  • Songwriting is a gift – seek it from God. Might He not give it to those who ask?
  • A song is a gift received by those who listen appreciatively.
  • A song written dies upon a lifeless page. A song can only live in the minds, hearts, and mouths of those who sing it.
